I believe this was an excellent decision as it has strengthened our family in ways I had not thought it would be possible. We live, study, sleep, work and play in the same environment, yet our harmony is amazing. We are blessed to live in a very comfortable home with lots of space and a great neighborhood.

Our family enjoys many very pleasant amenities most don’t have. The kids have a fairly busy schedule, though we do try to keep a simple lifestyle.

We moved to San Diego County in February of 2002, after a Christmas vacation here from Salt Lake City, Utah.

We enjoy cooking, singing, gardening, basketball, and family board games.

We have three Weimaraner: Kaiser, Sabrina and Chance. We have a great mother cat, Talula. Talula recently had a litter of seven. I never thought I’d say this, but i love these cats. They are great hunters. This is important these days since our property (9.5 acres) have a few mice, squirrels and rabbits these great hunter kittens use to supplement their diet.

We also have three quarter horses: Dorian – a gray gilding, named after a Shakespeare character; Macie – a Buckskin, and Luna – a Palomino, both mares.

We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. Mikki was released as a seminary teacher this summer (I mention this because she really loved the calling and would be happy to still be a teacher this semester.

I served this year at the MCRD (Marine Corp Recruitment Depot) in the Branch presidency. Interesting experience. This for another post.

I have recently been asked in organize and direct a 12 Step Addiction Recovery Program in Ramona.

So Why a Personal Brand?
First, as a branding guy, I needed to because I wanted to create or separate my personal brand on my business life. In fact, if you look at the browser bar you can see a small that is my photo as my Favicon. This photo appears in all my social media plateforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Google.

This Barbeque Sauce is from a book of old cowboy recipes, collected by “Wild Wes” Medley, the Rodeo Champion, and published by him as “The Original Cowboy Cookbook”.

Most of the recipes in this book came from Wild Wes’ grandfather who was a ranch hand in Texas and worked as a cook.

To do barbeque sauce, in a stock pan add:

– 1 cup stong black coffee
– 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
–  1 cup catsup
– 1/2 cup cider vinegar
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 3 table spoons of hot chile powder
– 2 teaspoons salt 2 cups chopped onions
– 1/4 cp chopped green chile peppers: jalapeno, serrano, habanero
– 6 cloves garlic, minced

I added these additional ingredients to add the Rafael Touch:
– 2 table spoons of cumin
– 1 cup of cilantro

Simmer barbeque sauce 25 minutes, puree or blend. Use as a marinade and a baste when barbequeing.
